Founded over a decade ago, American Rodsmiths was created by an avid fisherman to provide the finest rods available to other avid fisherman… and for over 10 years now, that is exactly what we have been doing. Owner Robert Scherer, along with some of the Original All Star Rods gang, had the dream to build the finest rods available, utilizing the best components, and utilizing cutting edge technology to create rods that are both unbelievably strong, yet incredibly light and sensitive, and that is a goal that continues to drive us to this day.
Robert Scherer – Owner
Robert is an avid fisherman who currently fishes the Redfish Cup Series, and it has been his life long passion to develop the finest rods available for anglers.
Bob Brown – President
Bob has a long history in the fishing industry and is an incredible all around angler, but his true love as a fisherman is bass… BIG bass. Combining his skill as an angler with his knack for developing NEW products has led to some of American Rodsmiths greatest technological breakthroughs and Bob is always thinking about new ways of making our products even better.
Garret Scherer – Promotions Manager
Garret was raised with the business and his passion for inshore fishing is only matched by his commitment to product promotion and the ARS Pro-Staff. Extremely active with the CCA Organization, Garret is constantly making the rounds to various shows and events to promote the sport of fishing as well as American Rodsmiths.
Mandy Scherer – Customer Relations
Mandy is the face and voice of American Rodsmiths and is key to ensuring Customer Satisfaction, from people who walk into see our showroom in person, to customers calling from all corners of the globe.
Ric Hawthorne – Marketing Director
Based out of Southern California, Ric has been a life long angler who specializes in inshore and offshore big game fishing and is the voice of American Rodsmiths for all of their marketing needs, from print advertising, to editorial, to product images.
Jake Brewer – Product Manager
Jake is a Houston native who grew up fishing the local fresh, and salt waters. Responsible for everything from inventory management, to custom rod wrapping and repairs, Jake is the one who gets all the orders and repairs done in an efficient and timely manner.
Everyone at American Rodsmiths is passionate about fishing and will not put a product into the market place that has not been thoroughly tested by our in-house staff as well as our Pro Team in our drive to meld Innovation and technology to produce the finest fishing rods available.
